Later this year we started a Choice of Arms Challenge at Warmania with the objectif of painting whatever we had in our collection to field it for Frostgrave.
My choice went naturally to an undead Warband leaded by one of my favorite Rackham character: the Gorgon.
My choice went naturally to an undead Warband leaded by one of my favorite Rackham character: the Gorgon.
From this I went back through my undead collection and I gather miniatures a dark-gothique but fleshy theme with an aesthetic that would fit the grotesque horror of the Gorgon. I struggle a bit to compose a balance warband but I finally choose these profiles:
10 minis to paint + 2 bonus character to replace in case of disparition
The second most important character in a Frostgrave band is the Apprentice. Mine would be the undead spirit from a powerful magician, fool enough to willingly service the abomination. I had two different model for that profile so I choose to painted both in case some opponent decide to banned my apprentice during a battle.
My first apprentice, freshly invocated...
And the second one, still doing his homework...
I wanted to field my Ghouls because I really like the grotesque aspect of the old models so I decided that Chagall would be a ''Warhound'' when the rest of the Ghouls would be hunting treasure around.
First I wanted him to play as the Treasure Hunter but Chagall have no hands :/ ...
Better to use one of these as my Treasure hunter..
Some of them as Thugs...
And others as zombies peltastes to play as archers or javeliners...
6 zombies altogether.
This made a nice Warband that I expect to play, following different adventures, all along 2016.
I have now everything needed to play Frostgrave including markers, terrains and encounters.
Haunted houses...
Old ennemies...
Treasures...
And barricades...
Your stuff looks awesome.
